See your kids in action by volunteering in the cafeteria, garden, or school store! Bring your spring fever and energy to school and enjoy time with the kids. The kids appreciate your help!
Volunteering
Highcrest relies on the help of our wonderful parent volunteers throughout the entire year. Volunteering is a great way to connect with the school, community and your child. Active requests are listed below. However, if there's a committee that you would like to help out, feel free to contact the committee chair.
And if the day/time you wanted is full, consider checking out one of the other opportunities!
Cafeteria Signup
Volunteer for a shift (or more) at the Highcrest Cafeteria. Not only is it a great way to get in to see your child, even if they don’t come through the lunch line, but the cafeteria workers cannot get these kids fed in a timely fashion without our help. We have enough families at Highcrest, so if each family works just two shifts then we are more than covered for the year. The shift is no more than two hours.
School Store
The school store is open every Wednesday during all lunch periods. Students may purchase (using cash) items such as erasers, mechanical pencils, highlighters, rainbow pens, sharpeners and more.
Tween goodies and school supplies coming in HOT! The newly revamped “Hawk Hut” Student Store will be celebrating it’s grand re-opening on Wednesday, September 12 during all lunch hours. The Hawk Hut is located in the cafeteria and will sell a variety of school items and small toys priced from $.25 – $2.00 (cash only, so dig into those piggybanks!). The store is currently run by parent volunteers and over the course of the year we hope to incorporate student volunteers as well – stay tuned for more info. |
