No. Freaky Friday wristbands can be purchased online for $15.
How much do wristbands cost?
Wristbands cost $15.00 and cover all the games, dancing and food at Freaky Friday.
What’s this I hear about a waiver?
The vendors who rent us bounce houses and inflatable rides require every child who uses their products to have a signed waiver. Because our volunteers can’t check waivers the night of, we require every child to submit a signed waiver before attending. No exceptions.
When will my child get his wristband?
Wristbands will be distributed to the homeroom teachers on the morning of Freaky Friday. The children will be encouraged to put them on immediately so as to avoid them being lost before the evening.
What activities are at Freaky Friday?
This event features carnival games, inflatable rides and bouncing, dancing, photo booth and haunted house.
My child has peanut allergies. Can he eat the food at the event?
There is popcorn, cotton candy, ice cream and water. The popcorn is popped using non-peanut oil. There is a large variety of wonderful nut-free frozen treats from Delta Ice Cream Distributors, including Haagen-Das, Edy’s, Helados, and Nestle. We will also offer POPSICLE brand Firecracker popsicles!
Do you mind hanging on to my child’s EpiPen in case he has an allergic reaction at the event?
Our volunteers cannot be responsible for EpiPens or other medications while your child attends Freaky Friday. The school nurse is not in attendance and PTO volunteers do not have access to her office. Having said that, there will be staff on site who are trained in First Aid and CPR. Please plan accordingly.
What are the times for Freaky Friday?
Freaky Friday runs from 6:00-7:30 pm
I need to drop my child off earlier than 6:00 pm. Will he be allowed in?
The students are not allowed to enter the doors until 6:00 pm. Kids can be dropped off beginning at 5:45 pm. There will be chaperones outside to handle the kids who are waiting to get in beginning at that time. No adult supervision before 5:45 pm.
Freaky Friday is for students of Highcrest only. Parents can attend as volunteers but need to sign up before hand.
Can I “drop” my child at Freaky Friday?
Yes. There will be over 100 parent volunteers at Freaky Friday monitoring every activity so your child will be safe at Freaky Friday without your attendance.
Is my child allowed to leave during the event?
Children are not allowed to leave during the event unless they are picked up from the front doors by their parent/guardian. At 7:30, the kids will be allowed to leave and parents need to make sure they pick up their child promptly.
Is Freaky Friday very scary?
We decorate the front entrance of Highcrest to be spooky and scary. The lighting is minimal. After they get through the front entranceway, there are no decorations. The hallways are mostly lit, as is the dance floor and the gym and cafeteria where the other activities are. There will be a non-scary entrance alternative as well for anyone interested.
Can my child buy a ticket for a friend/sibling who would also like to attend?
No. Only students of Highcrest are allowed to attend Freaky Friday.
Do I need to come into the school to pick up my child when the event is over?
No. You will be able to drive up to the front to pick up your child. But it will be crazy due to all of the cars. Please try to arrange car pools to avoid the over congestion.
My child has special needs, will he be able to attend with a chaperone?
Yes, absolutely! Please make sure that when the wristband is purchased you ask for 1 for the chaperone as well, which is at no charge.
