On October 31st, as part of its emphasis on community service, Highcrest PTO sponsored a visit by Greg Siegman (Founder of The 11-10-02 Foundation). In assemblies with our students, Greg shared his story and discussed some of the seemingly small, oftentimes overlooked ways that kids can extend the positive impact they make at school and in the community. His organization funds college scholarships for students with financial need. He has received honors like the Jefferson Award for Public Service and has been featured by media like Good Morning America. His story serves as the basis for The First Thirty, which was NSDLC Multicultural Relations Book of the Year.
If you wish to order the book, you can visit http://www.TheFirstThirty.com If you want it signed to your child, respond with your child’s first name when you receive the confirmation email after you place your order.
