Recycle Your Plastic Bags at Highcrest

The national Trex Challenge to recycle the most plastic bags is back at Highcrest, and this year we know we can win. (We came so close last year!) Bring your plastic bags to the school lobby collection boxes.

The Environmental Awareness Committee & the Highcrest administration are bringing awareness to plastic bag recycling. Highcrest is competing against hundreds of schools nationwide to recycle the most plastic (by weight) in The Trex Challenge. We came very close to winning last year—so let’s try to win it this year! Along with national recognition, the winning school receives a Trex sustainable composite bench made from recycled plastic. Drop off these items in school lobby collection boxes: plastic bags from groceries, bread, produce, dry cleaning, ice, ziploc, salt, cereal & dry cleaning. Also, newspaper sleeves, case overwrap & bubble wrap! All materials must be clean. For more information, click HERE.
