BOOK FAIR OCT 21 - 23 (Food Truck 10/21)!
Anderson Book Fair will be coming to HMS Learning Commons on 10/21 - 10/23 from 9 am- 4:15 pm each day. 10/21 will be Family Night. (Details on Family Night coming soon).
The La Cochinita Food Truck will be on site on 10/21 from 5 - 7:30 pm, so come to the fair and cross dinner off your to-do list that night!

Take advantage of early bird pricing for the 2024-25 yearbook. The price will increase on October 31. To purchase your yearbook, log on to the PTO website and then visit the Back-to-School 1 Stop Shop tab. FREAKY FRIDAY- Get your Tickets and Volunteer!
WHEN: Friday, October 18, 5-6:30pm. (Rain day is Oct 25). WHERE: Highcrest (Outdoors) Click here to get more information and purchase tickets. Log in necessary for purchase. Account also needs to have been verified for the schoolyear. $17 online before noon Oct 17/ $25 (cash) at event. STOCK THE TEACHER'S LOUNGE IN NOVEMBER- 6th Grade House 3
Help the PTO stock the teachers' lounge this school year! Each month, a different house will bring items to the teachers' lounge so it stays fully stocked year-round. Click here to sign up!
Next for November: 6th Grade House 3 (Flitntz, Eakley, Heyde, Facchini)- Please drop off items by 11/1.
SAVE THE DATE!! Mom's Comedy Night Out - Nov 7
Join the Highcrest PTO for a 5th/6th grade mom's night out. It will be an evening of fun and laughter. Lite bites and wine/beer will be served. Ticket sales will open on Friday, Oct 11.
Date: Thursday, November 7 Schedule: Doors Open at 6:30pm Show: 7:30pm-8:45pm Location: Woman’s Club of Wilmette | 930 Greenleaf Ave, Wilmette Cost: $50 (limited to 100 tickets) All proceeds will go toward Highcrest Enrichment. |
PLASTIC BAG RECYCLING PROGRAM DISCONTINUED!
The Plastic Bag Recycling Program at Highcrest has been discontinued due to low participation. You can still recycle your plastic bags at Jewel or Target.
PASS 39 COFFEE HOUR - OCT 11 (DATE CHANGED!!)
The PASS39 Coffee hour is scheduled for October 11th from 9:30-11:30AM. Come meet the representative and other parents of PASS39. RSVP to PASS39@Wilmette39.org for the location. Preschool kids and younger are welcome too!
TRUNK OR TREAT - OCT 16
Wilmette D39 schools are invited to a Wilmette police-sponsored Trunk-or-Treat event!
When: Wednesday, October 16 from 5pm-7pm (Rain date October 23)
Where: Dependent on number of volunteer vehicles. Currently at Wilmette Poplar parking lots - on Poplar, south of Greenleaf Ave, bordering the Metra tracks.

IGNITE- HELP FUND ENRICHMENT AT HMS!
Please consider donating to iGNITE at Highcrest. iGNITE raises funds for enrichment programs like field trips, assemblies and improvements to our school (such as outdoor learning environments and athletic equipment). The district does not pay for these activities. Your donation will ensure the continuation of these programs.
On Oct. 8, 6th graders will hear speaker John Halligan’s “Ryan’s Story”, the story of how one young life has the power to inspire positive change in the fight against bullying, cyberbullying, and teen suicides. This talk is brought to HMS by iGNITE. |

Did you know we can recycle plastic bags at HMS? We have bins in the front entrance and teacher's lounge at HMS! But we need your help to keep this program going. Twice a month, a parent volunteer picks up the bags and takes them to the Jewel on Greenbay Rd. Be a part of our plastics project and sign up for a shift here!
FREAKY FRIDAY (10/18)
To make Freaky Friday a success, we need the help of lots of parent volunteers. There are lots of jobs from setup, chaperones, to fortune telling and cleanup. Different time slots are available. Click HERE to sign up!
