The Parent Association for Student Services (PASS) in District 39 is a parent organization committed to supporting parents of children with learning, behavioral, emotional and developmental challenges.

 

There’s a Parent Handbook available with great resources. Parents nights out are planned. Meetings with district staff covering relevant topics within D39 fostering ongoing communication between parents and D39.

2025-2026 PASS39 EVENTS

 

  • September 10th, 7:30 PM, St. John's Church at 1235 Wilmette Ave., Wilmette. Parents only evening support group for parents of children with all types of developmental differences.
  • September 12th, 9:30 AM-11:30 AM, Panera Bread at 1199 Wilmette Ave., Wilmette. Parents only connecting parent coffee talk (informal get together to collaborate, socialize, and support one another).
  • September 21st, 3 PM, McKenzie School playground. Kids Connect playground event. This is an informal get together for children and parents to get together and play.
  • September 29th (please note date change), 6:00 PM-8:00 PM, MEC (Mikaelian Education Center) at 615 Locust Street, Wilmette. Parents only annual ice cream social. Come and mingle with fellow parents & district personnel and meet the new Pass39 representatives. James Kling will be presenting the workshop, When Love Doesn't Conquer All, which works to educate parents on simple, effective ways to manage mild to severe behavioral difficulties in children at school and in the home. The workshop also focuses on teaching parents how to create a positive environment for a child that will improve behaviors and foster a closer relationship with all family
